Common Symptoms of Neurological Conditions:
Too often, symptoms that stem from neurological conditions are incorrectly attributed to non-neurologic causes. This is perhaps understandable when we consider that the neurological network extends throughout a person's entire body and can affect virtually all of the body's other systems. So, for instance, what may appear, at first glance, to be a gastrointestinal complaint may, in fact, have its origins in a neurological disorder. If you have experienced any of the following symptoms, you may have a neurological condition that needs to be addressed. Symptoms of neurological disorders include:
- Chronic, widespread pain
- Painful hypersensitivity to pressure
- Tingling of skin
- Numbness
- Muscle spasms
- Weakness in the limbs
- Nerve pain
- Bowel problems
- Insomnia or sleep problems
- Cognitive disorders (called “fibrofog” or “brain fog”)
- Difficulty in concentrating
- Memory problems
- Decreased attention and ability to multi-task
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Irritability
- Nervousness
- Chronic localized pain, including shoulder pain, neck pain, back pain, and hip pain
- Rashes
- Chronic pain of facial muscles
- Tingling, or “pins and needles” of the skin
- Bladder and urination problems
- Skin disorders
- Headaches/Migraines
- Muscle spasms
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
- Arthritic joint pain.
